 Visit to SOON Children's Home Dec 2009 Report
On Saturday, December 19th, a delegation of four hashers (Gunslinger, Baba Mboga, Femiplan, Fireme) along with a visiting hasher from the Montpelier Hash in France (Hubert) bought foodstuff and delivered these along with clothes, toys and other donations to the Soon
Children’s Home in Kasarani. The sixteen children who now make Soon their home were overjoyed, as was Mama Lucy, the custodian of the home. The team met with Lucy who gave us a tour of the home and showed us the great contribution that hashers had made this year in terms of electricity provision and the chipboard walls of the structures.

2009 Christmas Visit to SOON Children's Home |
 As the Christmas season is now upon us, we would like to ask you all to please contribute generously towards our drive to collect dry goods (foodstuffs), clothes and toys for the children of Soon Children’s Home.
The Nairobi Hash House Harriers will be visiting the Soon Children’s Home on the morning of Saturday, December 19th. If you would like to join us, we will be departing from Impala Club at 9.00am to make the trip to the home in Kasarani..

DIRECTIONS: From town, take Ngong Rd to Karen. At the Karen shopping center roundabout, turn right into Dagorreti road. Go for about 3 kms. After you pass Karen Bible college, on your left you will see Resurrection Gardens sign. Follow hash marks to the Hares hole from there.
DISTANCES: Short of 14 kms, Normal half marathon of 21 kms, and a Ball Breaker of 30 kms.
Full course Dinner will be served on the house. Drinks on the house. A famous Nairobi DJ will entertain you all night.
Registration for Hashers: Kshs 150 each
Registration for non-hashers: kshs 250 each

CHARGES
Sharing a room with two beds – Kshs 3,700 per person
Single room – Kshs 4,700 per person
Day rate (Runners who want to come and run and go back home or seek alternative
accommodation) – Kshs 1,200
Rates for singles and sharing includes: T-shirt, logistics, Refreshments up the Mountain,
Saturday Dinner and Accommodation for one night at Sportsman Arms Hotel, Nanyuki
town, breakfast and lunch on Sunday.

We shall have music/disco all night with DJ Gerro.

Please note:
- We depart from the Sportsman Arms Hotel, Nanyuki Town, at exactly 12 noon
on Sat. Sept 4th. If you are late come straight to the starting point – the KWS Mt
Kenya Park gate – Naromoro gate – access it from Naromoro town.
- You cannot pay directly to the hotel. All payments must be through the Social
Sec. Friends are most welcome but you must inform them of the payments well
in advance.
- Run starts at exactly 1 pm. The long will start 4 kms before the KWS gate while the short
will start at the KWS gate.
Bring warm clothing for the mountain and your dancing shoes for the
party/disco all night long.
